As Marketing Manager for the Japan market, you will contribute to local growth across both B2C and B2B.
Reporting to the APAC Marketing Lead based in Tokyo, you will work closely with the APAC team as well as central global teams to plan, execute, and optimize marketing initiatives tailored to the local market.
This is a highly autonomous role in which you will identify opportunities, build processes from the ground up, and help turn them into scalable and repeatable operations with speed and ownership.
The core mission of this role is to drive brand awareness, user acquisition, engagement, and partner acquisition, activation, and retention in Japan.
Success in this role will be measured by growth in MAU, MARU, and Requests, stronger customer loyalty and LTV in B2C, and improved partner activation and pipeline generation in B2B.

What success looks like
- Contributing to growth in MAU, MARU, and Requests in the Japan market
- Accelerating B2C performance through CRM, local campaigns, and localization
- Ensuring B2B partner initiatives work seamlessly across acquisition, activation, and retention
- Building a repeatable marketing operating model in close collaboration with global teams
- Making sound prioritization decisions and delivering results within limited resources
In this role, you will work closely with:
- APAC Marketing team
- Central Marketing teams across Consumer, B2B, Brand, and Localization
- APAC Account Management team
- Central Data, Legal, and Product teams
- Local vendors, including agencies, production partners, and media outlets
B2C (Demand Generation)
- Create content and ensure localization quality for communications across the platform and CRM
- Execute local campaigns in collaboration with media and community channels as needed
- Drive business growth through improvements in MAU, MARU, and retention
- Execute event initiatives
- Ensure localization quality for partner-facing content and execute initiatives across the full partner lifecycle, from acquisition to activation and retention
- Maintain quality of partner enablement and education materials such as presentations and case studies, and create new assets as needed
- Execute events and trade marketing initiatives
- Create content and ensure localization quality for recurring communications such as newsletters and feature release announcements
- Collaborate with Marketing, Account Management, Product, Data, and Legal teams
- Manage local vendors, including agencies, production partners, and media outlets
- Provide weekly reporting to the APAC Marketing Lead
What sets you apart
- 5+ years of marketing experience
- Including B2C paid marketing operations or agency management
- And B2B growth and enablement
- 5+ years of hands-on localization experience
- With a strong focus on quality and execution
- Knowledge of the Japan market
- Including regulations and the media landscape
- Experience in lifecycle marketing / CRM operations
- Experience with platforms such as Braze is a plus
- Strong communication skills
- With the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive initiatives to completion
- Data-driven mindset
- Able to make decisions based on insights
- Language skills
- Business-level English
- Native-level Japanese
- Valid work authorization in Japan
- Experience in luxury, watches, or marketplace businesses
- Familiarity with tools such as GA4, Looker, Qlik, Asana, Jira, and Canva
- Vendor management experience
- From selection through SLA management
- Experience in event planning and on-site execution
